Attitude of Gratitude

I have had such a wonderful week
I am very grateful for all the beautiful
weather we have been having in the last
couple days. Yes we have had some rain but at
least its not been an all day affair.

My great granddaughter was here with me
for a couple days this week again and we
spend the day yesterday outside in the
backyard. My yard is fenced in so I don't
have to worry about her getting away
from me. She loved being able to run and
play in the yard. She is not much of a fan of when
she falls down on the ground and heaven forbid
she get a little dirt or grass on her hands or body.
Numerous times she would come to me with
something on her and she had this disgusting
look on her face and want me to get it off
her. At almost 18 months she sure is a
neat freak when it comes to her body.
Her toys however, well that's another story,
If all her toys are not strung out from one
end of the living room to the other she is not
happy.

We played so much over the last couple days that
I didn't even think about taking pictures.
Wow bad grandma :)
She will be here next week again and will be
going to the 4th of July Parade here in town
with us. (well her grandmother and nana that is)
I will remember my camera to take pictures.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I know I
am looking forward to this next weekend and celebrating
the 4th and going to my family reunion/picnic after
the parade.

Just like Great Grandma

I like to do things just like

my Great Grandma

She uses a tray on her lap

to write or be on her laptop

so today when I found this tray

in her cupboard, I got it out

and used it to do my beautiful

writing.

I love my Great Grandma and

I love coming to spend the night

at her house.

Attitude of Gratitude

Church was wonderful this morning. The children sang for Father's Day. There was a wonderful piano solo by the Primary chorister. I love hearing anyone playing the piano and hearing a piano solo just makes me smile. In the class I teach in Primary (Sunbeam class for 3-4yr olds) we made Father's Day cards and put together candy bags for their fathers/father figures. We made shirt/tie cards and we also made one for the Bishop in our Ward. He came into our class about 15 min before it was over and the children gave him his card and candy. He was so happy and told each of the children thank you and that he loved them. They thought that was pretty cool. When each of the parents came to pick up their kids from class the kids handed the cards and candy to the fathers and of course they wanted to know if they could have a piece of candy. LOL I figured that would happen. But all in all I think the kids had a wonderful day today and I know I had fun helping the kids make the cards.

Here is a picture of the card we made for the Bishop. I added my own little hopeful part to the card and that was the little duck diaper pin on the tie. The Bishop and his wife are hoping to adopt a child soon. They should know something in the next couple of weeks or so. I am keeping my fingers crossed for them. They are a wonderful couple.

I have had a wonderful past week and have a lot of things to be grateful for . Spending time with my great granddaughter Randi, spending time with my grandson Noah and his parents Bryce and Kristal, spending time with my daughters Amanda and Angela, spending time with my granddaughter Morgyn and also spending time with my sister and mother. I wish on this Father's Day I could spend time with my father but he is in Heaven. I miss him each and every day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and takes time to stop and enjoy themselves.

Attitude of Gratitude

Look for the little things in life to make you smile
No matter what, how or why your day is
going the way it is, everyone should smile.

I am trying to look at at the positive in things
in my life no matter what.
It's not easy trust me, but I am making
an honest effort.

The weather has been beautiful in my
opinion. Yeah it's been a little on the chilly
side, but the sun has been shinning and I
have been able to have my windows open
and let all the fresh air in. It's been wonderful
to sleep with all this fresh air.

My project for this week is to clean up this
rocking horse my sister found at the goodwill store
today at the 50% off sale. My great granddaughter
Randi will love it.

Speaking of Randi, she fell on the pavement
this past week while running. She hasn't
quite gotten it yet that she doesn't have
very good control yet with running.
She is okay and only cried for a min or so,
got all scraped up and was up and running
again. Oh my this is going to be a
long summer. I can see it now.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and takes
time to enjoy themselves in whatever
they do.

Beautiful Weather

I think and hope that the nice warm weather has finally decided to make an appearance around here. Of course leave it to mother nature to make it cold enough to have to turn on furnace one day and the very next day have to turn on the AC because it's hot enough to cook an egg on the sidewalk. Although it may sound like I am complaining I am not. I have waited for this warm weather to arrive. Today it's warm but ok enough that I turned off the AC and opened the windows to get some nice fresh air in here.

My great granddaughter Randi has been here with me this week since Tuesday and she will be going home Friday night. I have enjoyed having her here visiting. She loves spending time here with me. We have played, shopped, painted our nails and toes (well I have done the painting), gone swimming, went to my mothers and she had to smell every single flower in the garden. She kept saying MMMMM after every one while sporting a big grin on her face. She does really well for me when she is here. She sleeps all night from about 10p till about 9a. She is getting to be such a big girl. Since she has figured out how to get up on the furniture on her own now, she thinks once you get up from a chair it's her turn to sit there. The above picture is her in the rocking chair on the porch at my mothers. I was sitting there and got up to get her some juice and when I came back there she was sitting with the biggest grin on her face :)

I will be watching my grandson Noah in a few days over night while his mother works. He is only a little over 2 months old, so when he stays with me we don't do much but smile and I talk to him and he babbles back to me. He is a good baby also. I can't wait till he will be able to play and we can do some fun things together. It will be fun when both Randi and Noah get to play together. Although Randi is not really a happy camper when I am holding Noah. She puts her arms out and wants me to give him to her. I tried to hold both of them but she does not like that either. She will just have to learn to share. I received this picture of Noah yesterday. Doesn't he have the cutest smile or is it just that I am a little biased? Yeah I admit it I am one of those grandma's who is proud of her grandkids :)

Things have been a little better around here. Oh there are still a lot of things going on, but at least I feel like I can function without waiting for the other shoe to drop. I am trying my hardest to be supportive and not let others problems take over my life. But it's hard when the problems pertain to your family (children). I never thought in a million years my life would be this way at my age. Oh well I just have to take it one day at a time.

I am looking forward to summer and getting outside and enjoying the weather. We have been able to have a couple nights where we cooked out on the grill and ate outside. The summer will go by quickly and I want to enjoy as much of it as I can. We will be having out annual family 4th of July picnic and although we have lost some family members since last year, it will be nice seeing everyone.

I have been scouring blogs, books, internet looking for craft ideas to make things for my home. I have some cool things saved and look forward to making them. I also am now teaching the 3yr olds at church and they are such a fun age, but it does get a little tricky trying to get the lesson across on their level. Right now I am looking for ideas for Father's Day for something they can make. I have a couple ideas but I need to make them myself first so I can see how easy and how long it will take to make. I need to get busy because I don't have much time left.

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and wherever you live you get to enjoy the weather and take time to just relax and have some fun.

The picture at the top of the page is one I found while looking at blogs. I sent it to my sister because she has 3 cats and they are always fighting over who gets to sit on the cat window seat. I told her this would take care of the problem. She laughed and said they probably would fight over who was on top. Either way I thought it was cute.
